Meet the Charities 2019

The Giving Machines are part of a seasonal campaign and are not in place at this time. We expect the machines to return the week of Thanksgiving 2020. The information below is from the 2019 season and may change in 2020.

Meet the Charities

Black Child Development Institute (BCDI)- Denver: BCDI’s mission is to improve and advance the quality of life for Black children and families through education and advocacy. This occurs as we deliver resources that respond to the unique strengths and needs of Black children and issues. We work to implement culturally responsive, trauma sensitive, and evidence-based programs that promote high-quality early care and education, literacy, health, and family engagement.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Denver:  Catholic Charities’ structure is built to provide services for every age and every stage. From young to old, our services reach Denver residents through early childhood education programs and home-based counseling, to housing services, to senior services. People at various stages are also impacted through our services as we offer help for those experiencing homelessness, caregiver services for people raising their relatives’ children, and women’s services.

Rose Andom Center: The Rose Andom Center is a place for domestic violence victims to find the safety, support and services needed to rebuild their lives and heal their families. We reach this goal by facilitating better access to services and staff of community organizations and government agencies in a single, safe location. The Rose Andom Center is Colorado’s first family justice center, having opened its doors in 2016.

Mile High Ministries: Mile High Ministries is an interdenominational community who share a common commitment to the Christian faith and to God’s active concern for the poor and marginalized. Our Joshua Street program helps families experiencing homelessness transition to a stable, healthy living environment. We also provide affordable, mixed-income housing to help relieve Denver’s affordable housing crisis, legal aid for low-income victims, spiritual support for any who are interested, and peacemaking strategies for urban living.

Water for People: Around the world, 2.1 billion people don’t have access to safe water while  4.5 billion lack access to adequate sanitation. Women and children spend more than four hours walking for water each day, and more than 840,000 people die each year from water-related diseases. Water for People exists to promote the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services accessible to all and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments. We’re working to reach everyone forever.

CWS Global: CWS has one goal: building a world where there is enough for all. Three branches of outreach comprise our global care. We address hunger and poverty with long-term community solutions. We are leading the charge in strategy and welcome of refugees and immigrants suffering from mass displacement. Through preparation, relief, and recovery, our emergency response means committing to communities before –  and long after – disaster hits.
