The Delores Project Logo

The Delores Project assists around 450 women a year with both emergency housing and supportive housing for disabled women previously chronically unhoused. Through offering shelter, housing and supportive services, The Delores Project helps women overcome their challenges to gain independence and self-reliance.

Church World Service

Church World Service has a vision where everyone has food, a voice and a safe place to call home. Initially their mission was to provide food to the hungry and help those in need. Today they also provide shelter and services for asylum seekers and refugees worldwide and coordinate emergency disaster relief efforts.

Red_Cross

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Their core services provide shelter and support amid disasters, emergency responders able to save lives, lifesaving blood and blood products, emergency preparedness, and support for armed service members and their families.

Giving Machines Background

Light the World is the annual Christmas initiative of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At root, it is an invitation for all to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be a light to others during the Christmas season.

In 2017 the Giving Machine was born in response to a heartfelt question: “Can serving others be instant, fun, and memorable?” Since then, Light the World Giving Machines have appeared in cities across the globe, capturing the attention of media, public officials, respected nonprofit organizations, business leaders, other faiths, and the public. In the past few years, hundreds of thousands of people have donated US$22 million in goods and services to care for those in need—around the block or around the world.
